February 9, 2007 - Bulldog distance runner Ian Burrell clocked a school-record 13:46.97 in the 5000-meter run at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. The senior from Colorado Springs, Colo., trimmed almost 9 seconds off of the former record held by Simon Ngata and had the fastest time in the nation after all of the meets on this date. Burrell's record-setting time also qualified him automatically for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
February 9, 2005 - Former Georgia swimming All-American Julie Hardt named the Sportswoman of the Year by the Georgia Commission on Women's Sports.
