December 7, 1997 - Georgia soccer great Stephanie Yarem became the program's first All-American after scoring 18 goals during the season.
December 7, 2002 - Georgia won its first SEC Championship in 20 years by defeating Arkansas 30-3 in the SEC title game.
December 7. 2004 - Former Georgia Director of Athletics Vince Dooley honored with John L. Toner Award at the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame award ceremonies in New York. The award is given to an administrator who has demonstrated superior abilities and shown outstanding dedication to college athletics, especially football. Also, Georgia quarterback David Greene recognized as one of the 15 players from across the nation chosen for the 2004 National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award ($18,000 post-graduate scholarship).
