Georgia Swimmers And Divers Sweep Georgia Tech

The No. 5-ranked Lady Bulldogs improved to 6-0 with a 139-94 decision over Georgia Tech, while the ninth-ranked Bulldogs (3-1) posted a 134-104 decision.
“We’re real excited about getting two good wins against Tech,” said Georgia coach Jack Bauerle, who improved to a combined 21-0 against Georgia Tech. “Our teams did a great job as a group. It was a pretty good team effort.”
The Lady Bulldogs got a pair of victories from Courtney Monsees, who took the 200-yard freestyle with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 1:49.78 and the 500y free in 4:55.55.
Georgia opened the meet by winning the 200y medley relay. Aleksandra Putra, Kelly McNichols, Lisa Caprioglio and Emily Montesinos stopped the clock in 1:45.33.
Anna Miller won the 1,000y free with a time of 10:02.50. Anne-Marie Botek claimed the 50y free race in 23.98. Lauren Cartwright touched first in the 400y individual medley, recording a 4:23.68. Hannah Moore won the 1-meter springboard diving competition, accumulating 301.34 points. The 200y backstroke race went to Lauren Groblewski, who had a time of 2:04.57.
On the men’s side, Troyden Prinsloo and Chris Colwill each won two events to pace the Bulldogs. Prinsloo took the 1,000y free in 9:04.33 and the 500y free in 4:30.02, while Colwill won the 1-meter and 3-meter boards with 412.94 and 389.17 points respectively.
Gil Stovall claimed the 200y free with a time of 1:38.90. Martin Kata won the 400y IM in 4:01.87. The 200y butterfly went to Mark Dylla in 1:51.00. Nathan Bibliowicz won the 100y free, stopping the clock in 45.43. Sebastien Rouault took the 200y back with a time of 1:53.15.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action at 2 p.m. on Friday at Gabrielsen Natatorium when they entertain No. 2 Stanford. Admission is free.
