November 6, 1920 - After Georgia scrapped for a 0-0 tie with Virginia, Cliff Cheatley, a writer for The Atlanta Constitution, used the name "Bulldogs" five times in his article. The nickname has stuck ever since.
November 6, 1977 - Kevin McLee ran for 198 yards while Ray Goff ran for three TD's and threw for two more as the UGA football team stormed past the Florida Gators, 41-27. Trailing 27-13 at the half, the Dawg's second half surge was way too much for the Gators as Georgia scored 28 unanswered points in the second half.
November 6, 1997 - #19 UGA women's soccer team slipped past Alabama in the first round of the SEC tournament in Gainesville, Florida. Kristy Bongiovanni was on fire as she scored two goals in this 3-2 victory over the Tide.
