Palo Alto, Calif. --- The Georgia women’s golf team fell from fourth to eighth in the team standings at the Stanford Intercollegiate following a 307 in Saturday’s second round.

The No. 9-ranked Bulldogs’ counting scores were a 75 from Garrett Phillips, a pair of 76s from Carolina Andrade and Krystle Caithness and an 80 from Mallory Hetzel.

“It was windy out there and there was some adversity, probably the first time this season we’ve seen faced adversity at that level,” head coach Kelley Hester said. “We apparently need to work on adjusting to conditions. We need to learn how to deal with elements like wind, speed of greens and ball flight if we want to be a team that’s in contention in the spring. We need to learn from a day like this.”

The Bulldogs are at 603 with 18 holes to play. Top-ranked Duke is atop the team leaderboard at 574, a dozen strokes ahead of No. 4 Arizona State. Rounding out the top 10 are No. 2 UCLA at 587, No. 22 Arkansas at 597, No. 14 Pepperdine and No. 15 Cal and at 601, No. 7 Arizona at 602, the Bulldogs, Washington at 612 and No. 12 Vanderbilt and No. 21 Stanford both at 614.

Amanda Blumenherst of Duke remained atop the individual leaderboard. She carded a 73 on Saturday and is two shots ahead of Arkansas’ Stacy Lewis. For Georgia, Phillips is tied for ninth at 146, Andrade is tied for 17th at 147, Caithness is tied for 22nd at 149, Hetzel is tied for 66th at 160 and Alina Lee is tied for 85th at 166.
