Getting To Know Georgia Volleyball Student-Athlete Anjelica Partridge

ATHENS, Ga. -- Throughout the 2007 volleyball season, both volleyball fans and Bulldog fans alike can get to know members of the UGA volleyball team with question and answer sessions being featured on Georgiadogs.com on Monday’s and Wednesday’s. Anjelica Partridge, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn., is a junior middle hitter for the Bulldogs and is part 10-of-16 in the series.
Question: What is your favorite thing about the sport of volleyball?
Answer: You get to fall on the ground and still look cool!
Q: What is your earliest volleyball memory?
A: YMCA Beginners volleyball camp in the 5th grade.
Q: If you could play any other sport in college, what would it be?
A: Gymnastics.
Q: What (if any) pre-game superstitions or rituals do you have?
A: Listening to my iPod.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do in your spare time when you are not playing volleyball?
A: Watch America's Next Top Model.
Q: What is the best advice you have ever received from a coach?
A: Grunt when you hit the ball (Joe Harmon, Dig to Win).
Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete?
A: D.J. Shockley.
Q: What celebrity would you most like to meet?
A: Tyra Banks.
Q: Do you have a favorite type of music you listen to? A favorite artist?
A: R&B; Beyonce.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Transformers.
Q: Do you have a favorite food or meal?
A: Salmon w/ honey, and shrimp tempura (sushi).
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
A: Christmas.
Q: What was your favorite TV show growing up?
A: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Q: What is your favorite TV show now?
A: America's Next Top Model.
Q: What is the best book that you have ever read?
A: Sula by Toni Morrison.
Q: Name one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you.
A: I sing all the time, and I actually have a really good voice.
Q: What is the place that you haven’t traveled to, which you would most like to visit?
A: The Georgia vs. Florida football game.
Q: Who was your favorite teacher and what was your favorite subject in high school?
A: American History with Ms. Ward.
Q: What would be your dream job?
A: A legal correspondent of Court TV.
Q: Do you have a nickname on team?
A: Jeli.
The Bulldogs will return home to the Ramsey Center this weekend for their next two contests. Georgia (13-7, 4-6) will play host to the South Carolina Gamecocks (9-10, 2-8) on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. ET and the Florida Gators (16-1, 9-1) on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 2 p.m. Georgia played both teams on the road earlier this season defeating South Carolina 3-0 in Columbia, but falling 3-1 to Florida in Gainesville
