Josh from Athens asks...
That was a great win at Utah Monday night. I got to follow the meet on georgiadogs.com, but I was wondering how the atmosphere is in Salt Lake City? With all there tradition and such a large crowd, do you think you can describe what it is like to go in there and get a win?

Dear Josh: Thank you for following our team during our meet with Utah on Monday night. It was clearly an exciting one as both teams competed well until the very end.

We thoroughly enjoyed competing in the Huntsman facility. The arena seats over 14,000 people yet it is a cozy atmosphere as the floor is small and the seats come close to the equipment and to the competitors. It almost feels like you're on a podium or on a stage as the arena has a fishbowl affect.

The fans were very respectful and appreciative of good gymnastics. There were a few crude comments and boos from students while we were on beam but not nearly as bad as it is in the SEC. There were fireworks for Utah during the introductions, over head video of the Utah tradition dating back 30 years, and lots of fun with cheerleaders throwing snacks and t shirts into the audience. The meet was very smooth which is no surprise knowing how organized Greg is. Every detail is taken care of.

We had a great time and look forward to continuing this dual meet exchange.
