The Bulldogs (9-7, 5-2 SEC) fell down early in doubles losing two out of three matches to the Wildcats (13-6, 6-1 SEC). The number one team of Caroline Basu and Natalie Frazier fell 8-2 at the hands of 43rd-ranked Kim Coventry and Carolina Escamilla. At second doubles 33rd-ranked Darya Ivanov and Evgenia Subbotina lost to Joelle Schwenk and Lara Mauer 8-1 and at third doubles Kelley Hyndman and Sarah Lett pulled out their match 8-5 over Danielle Petrisko and Caroline Winebrenner.
In singles 28th-ranked Natalie Frazier got the Bulldogs off to a good start with a 6-2, 6-3 win over 39th-ranked Kim Coventry followed by a victory by Kelley Hyndman over Danielle Petrisko 6-2, 6-4. Kentucky knotted the match back up at 2-2 after Joelle Schwenk upset 82nd-ranked Caroline Basu 7-6, 6-3. At second singles Evgenia Subbotina pulled off a three set match against Lara Maurer 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 to put the Bulldogs up 3-2. Then Jessica Giuggioli quickly dispatched Sarah Lett 6-1, 6-2 to again tie the score at 3-3. With the match coming down to the final pairing of Darya Ivanov and Carolina Escamilla, Escamilla narrowly defeated Ivanov in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 to give the match to
