Georgia's NCAA resume is relatively well documented...and very impressive.
The Lady Bulldogs have earned bids to 23 of 25 editions of "March Madness." Only Louisiana Tech and Tennessee, who have been to each Tournament, have been invited to more.
Equally outstanding is what Georgia has done with those post-season opportunities. Tonight, the Lady Bulldogs play their 21st Round of 32 NCAA contest, with an opportunity to advance to their 16th "Sweet 16."
Kendrick to make history at tip-off against Hawks
Barring Kelly Miller hiring Jeff Gillooly to interfere, senior Alexis Kendrick should tie the Georgia record for career games started as soon as tonight's second-round game begins.Kendrick has been a rock solid foundation in the Lady Bulldogs' starting five since the day she set foot on the Georgia campus. Kendrick has gotten the nod in 130 games and will most likely up that tally to 131 versus Hartford. That would equal the number of games Miller started during her career as a Lady Bulldog from 1997-01.
For the record, Kendrick and Miller are the only Georgia players to start every game during their four-year careers as Lady Bulldogs.
Kendrick also should tie Miller and Janet Harris at the No. 3 position among Georgia's ledger of career games played leaders as outlined below. Here's hoping she also reaches Wanda Holloway's record for games played, an achievement that also would indicate Georgia had advanced to the Final Four.
