Lady Bulldogs look to continue to strong SEC start

Georgia travels to Knoxville this evening in pursuit of extending its string of solid Southeastern Conference play. The Lady Bulldogs are 2-0 in league action after an impressive pair of wins a 14-point decision at Ole Miss and a 19-point victory over No. 25 Florida.

"I'm very pleased," Andy Landers said. "I'm very excited about the way we've opened the Southeastern Conference schedule. I thought we played a terrific basketball game and probably executed the best we have all year at Ole Miss, and then we had a real high-energy game against Florida and again executed and played well. I think we're off to a great start, and we certainly want to continue and build upon the momentum that we have." The challenge gets ratcheted up several levels tonight, however, as Georgia, with only nine players in uniform, takes on top-ranked Tennessee at Thompson-Boling Arena.

"Given our circumstances and all the things that have happened to us (outlined on Page 8 of these Game Notes), I think we're the only place we can be," Landers said. "We're playing good basketball. We're reasonably healthy. We've just got to prepare and make sure that we're rested and see if we can survive a 40-minute battle with a very deep team."
