UGA LB Jarvis Jackson Scheduled for Thumb Surgery

ATHENS -- University of Georgia junior linebacker Jarvis Jackson of Atlanta sustained a right thumb injury Saturday during the Georgia-South Carolina game which will require surgery.

The surgery will be performed Tuesday (Sept. 13) at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens. Jackson is expected to make a full recovery and will be able to return to play with a protective cast in 3-4 weeks.

Twenty-four current and former collegiate head football coaches paired up to compete in the 2025 Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament on Tuesday at the Reynolds Lake Oconee resort outside Atlanta. Played annually since 2007, the event has generated more than $10 million in scholarship and charity.
