Robinson and Isner Training With USA Tennis Collegiate Summer Team

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. - University of Georgia's rising stars, junior Shadisha Robinson and sophomore John Isner, have been named to the 2005 USA Tennis Collegiate Summer Team, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced Monday.
The USA Tennis Collegiate Summer Team, which consists of six female and six male players, is an elite training program for the top American collegiate tennis players that began in 1996 and is funded by the USTA. It is designed to provide players with valuable exposure to the USTA Pro Circuit in a team-oriented environment during the summer months.
This year's women's team consist of the following players: Megan Bradley, Miami (Fla.) (Columbia, Mo.), Audra Cohen, Northwestern (Plantation, Fla.), Amber Liu, Stanford (La Mesa, Calif.), Jennifer Magley, Florida (Bradenton, Fla.), Shadisha Robinson, Georgia (South Ozone Park, N.Y.) and Riza Zalameda, UCLA (Pasadena, Calif.). The men's team features: Jamil Al-Agba, Southern California (Camarillo, Calif.), Jonathan Chu, Harvard (New York, N.Y.), Ryler DeHeart, Illinois (Tampa, Fla.), John Isner, Georgia (Greensboro, N.C.), Sam Warburg, Stanford (Sacramento, Calif.) and Jesse Witten, Kentucky (Naples, Fla.) USTA High Performance coaches Lori McNeil and David Roditi will be coaching the women's and men's teams, respectively.
Robinson paired with Bradley last week at the ITF Southlake Women's Pro Classic in Texas, and they reached the final. They fell to Dallas' Anne Smith and Tara Snyder 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4). Bradley won the singles title with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Story Tweedie-Yates. Last month, Robinson teamed with Alabama's Robin Stephenson, and they won the ITF Hilton Head Invitational doubles title. Also, Robinson won three singles matches to qualify for the main draw at the hard court event but then lost in the first round to Canadian Aneta Soukup. Robinson, Bradley, Stephenson and Tweedie-Yates (TCU) all competed at the NCAA Championships held this past May in Athens.
