ATHENS, Ga. --- Sophomore John Isner and Antonio Ruiz of the University of Georgia men's tennis team have been named All-Americans, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Friday afternoon. Each Bulldog earned the honor in doubles, while Isner made All-America in singles as well, finishing with a No. 13 ITA national singles rank. Georgia has now had at least one player named All-America for 25 consecutive years (1980-2005).

The honor is the second for Isner, as he was a doubles All-American in 2004 as well, with partner Bo Hodge. It was Ruiz's first All-American appointment. Isner and Ruiz become the 36th and 37th players in Georgia's storied tennis history to be named All-Americans. Isner is the 17th player to earn the distinction multiple times.

Georgia has placed at least one player on the All-American squad every year since 1980. Norman Holmes and Danny Birchmore were Georgia's first All-Americans in 1971. Since then, only five times has the All-America squad not boasted at least one Bulldog (1973, '76, '78, '79, '80).
