Tech marking the first-ever win by the Yellow Jackets over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs face #36 Miss. State (8-2, 2-2 SEC) Friday and then #51 Ole Miss (9-4, 2-2 SEC) on Sunday. In their last action, the MSU Bulldogs upset #26 Alabama 6-1 while Ole Miss dispatched Tenn. Tech 6-1. The Lady Rebels, who are 8-1 at home, play host to #23 Tennessee Friday before Georgia comes to town. In the series history, Georgia own a 26-0 mark against MSU and leads 23-7 versus Ole Miss.
Georgia has won the doubles point in 11 of its 12 matches including all 10 of its victories this season. The only match Georgia lost the doubles was against top-ranked Stanford as the teams met in the semifinals of the USTA/ITA National Team Indoors and the Cardinal went on to post a 4-0 win. Georgia won the doubles point against #16 Ga. Tech but then dropped four singles matches.
Sophomore Natalie Frazier, ranked 26th nationally, holds a record of 27-5 on the year and owns a 14-match winning streak in singles. Frazier is 12-3 against ranked opponents this year and is 10-0 in team dual matches at the number two spot in the lineup.
Georgia's top tandem of sophomores Shadisha Robinson and Caroline Basu are ranked eighth nationally with a 15-2 mark and have won seven straight matches. They are 11-1 in team dual matches. In singles, Robinson is ranked fourth nationally with a 27-7 record while Basu is 13-6.
