Georgia Men's Tennis Tops Furman, 6-1

ATHENS, Ga. -- The No. 4 University of Georgia men's tennis team (3-0) took down the Furman University (2-3) Sunday afternoon by a score of 6-1, at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts. 18th-ranked sophomore John Isner clinched the match with a win at No. 1 singles, defeating Allen Simmons, 6-4, 6-1. Georgia is now 27-0 all-time against Furman.

"Top to bottom I think we played a very good match," said head coach Manuel Diaz. "We seemed very focused, particularly in singles. We took everything one point at a time, we didn't play many loose points at all. I think our singles focus was the best we¹ve had all year and that is something we will need next weekend against Ohio State."
