Georgia Upends Alabama, 72-63

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Tasha Humphrey scored 18 points and hit 7-of-12 3-pointers to lead Georgia to a 72-63 victory over Alabama on Thursday.

The game saw 17 lead changes and Alabama (12-8, 3-4 Southeastern Conference) led 35-33 at halftime. But the Crimson Tide had their final lead with 14:45 left to play, when Humphrey singlehandedly scored 10 points for Georgia (17-6, 6-3). Alabama edged to within five points again with 1:13 left, but Janese Hardrick hit four free throws in a row for Georgia to clinch the win.

Cori Chambers scored 15 points for Georgia and Sherill Baker had 13. The team shot 45.5 percent from the field.

Monique Bivins led Alabama with 14 points and Marverly Nettles had 10. The Crimson Tide shot 37.9 percent from the field.
