ATHENS, Ga. -- The Southeastern Conference champion Georgia Bulldogs placed a school-record eight players on the All-SEC First Team and had 10 players honored overall as announced by The Associated Press on Monday.

Offensive guard Max Jean-Gilles, tight end Leonard Pope, kicker Brandon Coutu and safety Greg Blue were unanimous selections for the First Team, and they were joined by quarterback D.J. Shockley, defensive end Quentin Moses, and cornerbacks Tim Jennings and DeMario Minter.

The eight First-Team selections betters the school mark of seven set by the 1976 Bulldogs and matched by the 1980 and 2002 squads, each of which also won the SEC title.

Georgia's Second-Team honorees were offensive tackle Daniel Inman and punter Gordon Ely-Kelso.

Max Jean-Gilles (Miami, Fla.) anchors an offensive line that has rolled up 382 yards and 29.1 points per game this year. With Jean-Gilles and Inman (Hope Mills, N.C.) leading the way, the Bulldogs have rushed for 157 yards per game and the line has allowed only 20 sacks.
