ATHENS -- University of Georgia Bulldog baseball coach David Perno announced Monday that 16 student-athletes have signed a national letter of intent during the recently completed early signing period.
The newest Bulldog class features 10 recruits from the state of Georgia, two from Florida, and one each from Alabama, Illinois, Nevada and Virginia.
"We have a balanced class of pitchers, hitters and catchers who are athletic and are hard workers on the field and in the classroom," said Perno. "This is a very talented class, and it's a credit to the work put in by our staff including Roger Williams, Doug Sisson, Jason Eller and Brian Jester. They did a tremendous job in-state and for the first time we were able to attract some highly-ranked out-of-state players as well. This is an important class because of the losses that will occur due to graduation and the professional draft this season. Fortunately, we were able to fulfill our needs in all areas with this group."
