Hey Dawg Fans,

This past weekend was unbelievable for our program. We are on a three-game winning streak and we won both games this weekend with two shutouts. Our entire team played well this weekend. There is not much more you can say about Ali Williams and her performance. She scored both goals against Alabama on Friday and the lone goal on Sunday at Auburn. She has been playing outstanding soccer. Considering that this is her first year playing in the forward position, she is making a name for herself in her senior year to say the least.

Ali and I both received SEC Player of the Week, which was actually a joke on Sunday because I was betting that she would get it and vise versa. After receiving that award, I found out that I got was selected to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week as well. I knew she would get a national award from the way she played, but I was amazed that I did too. I wish I could spread the award to my back four and then to the midfield and even Ali. Their defense is very good. It is very hard to break down the 10 girls working so hard in front of me. When the ball finally does get to me the opposing forward is so worn down that it more than likely is a back pass that I'm picking up. I give all the credit to them. I consider it more a team award than an individual one. Receiving the conference award and the national award is overwhelming. This is the first national award I have gotten (but hopefully not the last)! Georgia has just done something to me that has brought me out of my shell in a way. I am so glad I have one more year to perform with this phenomenal team in front of me.

Back to the weekend, it was weird to have to play both home and away. It was interesting. It was nice not having to leave and miss class on Thursday and Friday, but hard coming home kind of late on Sunday because I had three tests on Monday. Auburn was sweet because our game was televised in our region and in most of the eastern states, so my parents were able to watch it, which was cool. As soon as I got back to the complex, I had to go straight to study hall to work on my pre- calc homework, because the internet was not working in the hotel at Auburn. Just my luck. But in the end, I made it through just fine.
