ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia volleyball team fell behind early in game one and could not recover as LSU earned a 3-0 (30-20, 30-21, 30-24) win over the Bulldogs on Friday night at the Ramsey Center.

Georgia falls to 7-11 overall and 2-6 in SEC play, while LSU improves to 16-4 and 6-3.

The Tigers held Georgia to its second-lowest team hitting percentage of the year at .077 and had three players in double digits in the kills column.

"LSU served us very aggressive," said Georgia head coach Steffi Legall, "and we couldn't get into a good passing rhythm.  We hit zero in the first game and if you do that you just can't win no matter what the opponent is doing.  I hope our players are mad about the way we played today, and I know their will to fight will take over."

In game one the Bulldogs fell behind 11-5 as the Tigers pulled away with the 30-20 win.  LSU had a .344 hitting percentage in the game and Georgia was held to eight kills and eight errors.  LSU had 17 more kills in game two while Georgia had seven kills and nine errors, leading to the 30-21 LSU win.  Game three was tied as late as 18-18 but a late rally by the Tigers led to a 30-24 final and the 3-0 sweep.

Alexandra Oquendo was Georgia's leader with eight kills and three blocks and Liz Pace had 12 digs.

LSU's Marina Skender had a match-high 15 kills and Daniela Romero posted a match-high 16 digs.

The Bulldogs return to action when they host Arkansas on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ramsey Center.

"I was really hoping to give the team a spark (in game two).  We needed a little pick-me-up, and hopefully next time we'll be able to pull it out.
