ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia junior Tyson Browning was named the SEC's Special Teams Player of the Week by the conference office on Monday morning.

The Watkinsville, Ga., native returned the first two punts of his career in Saturday's 48-28 win over Georgia Southern, returning the first for 17 yards and the second for a 72-yard touchdown. It was the seventh special teams TD for the Bulldogs under head coach Mark Richt, and the first punt return for a TD since Damien Gary against New Mexico State in 2002.

Georgia leads the league with seven Special Teams Players of the Week since 2002.
