Hey everyone! My name is Megan Dowlen and I am one of the new freshmen. I am so excited to be here and be on my own. I am especially excited to start a new journey in my life. The first day of workout was awesome! I was not able to do much because of my two broken pinkie fingers. Four weeks ago I was training at my gym in Texas and peeled off of the bar resulting in my injury. I came to Georgia with two red casts which definitely helped in the "moving into the dorm process" (my dad had to do all the work), but I got the casts taken off last week and will soon be able to start full training. There is no comparison to college gymnastics and club. It is just so much fun cheering across the gym for my teammates and them cheering for me. It is definitely a different atmosphere. All of us freshman who came in this year get along very good. I believe that the team this year will be very strong. As far as school goes, I love my classes and my teachers. I was home schooled since the fifth grade, so I was pretty nervous coming to a school with 30,000 students! All my teachers, coaches, the academic support system, and my teammates have helped me out a lot with the nerves. So I would like to thank everyone for that. I am looking forward to mandatory workouts and cannot wait to start swinging on the bars again!
Goooo Dawgs!!!
