UGA Cross Country Teams Post Wins in Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- It was a clean sweep for the Georgia cross country teams on Saturday at the Gator Invitational as they took both team and both individual titles.
In the men's 8-kilometer race, the Bulldogs scored 30 points to edge host Florida by two points.
Simon Ngata paced Georgia with a time of 25:29.3, taking first place and nipping teammate Ian Burrell by just five-tenths of a second. Mike Swope checked in third at 25:31, followed by Philip Bett in ninth in 26:02 and Grant Eichenlaub in 15th in 26:30. Rounding out Georgia's participants were Ryley Miller (19th, 26:39) and Sam Gillespie (20th, 26:40).
