NCAA Championships Dates Approaching Fast

The dates for the 2004 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championships are only two weeks away. The University of Georgia will be the site of the `04 championships, May 20-29. This will be the second time that Georgia has served as host to the event, and it will return to Athens again in 2005.

Here is the schedule for this year's tournament:
Thursday, May 20 - Round of 16 Team (8 matches)
Friday, May 21 - Quarterfinal round Team (4 matches)
Saturday, May 22 - Semifinal round Team (2 matches)
Sunday, May 23 - Championship Team (1 match)
Monday, May 24 - Round of 64 Singles (32 matches)
Tuesday, May 25 - Round of 32 Singles & Doubles (32 matches)
Wednesday, May 26 - Round of 16 Singles & Doubles (16 matches)
Thursday, May 27 - Quarterfinals of Singles & Doubles (8 matches)
Friday, May 28 - Semifinals of Singles & Doubles (4 matches)
Saturday, May 29 - Finals of Singles & Doubles (2 matches)

Regional Winners Will Comprise 16-Team Field
Now in its sixth year under the current format, the field of 16 will be determined by 16 four-team regionals, hosted at campus sites throughout the country May 14-16. Each regional will be composed of a top 16 seed, a 17-32 seed, a 33-48 seed and a 49-64 seed. The winner of each regional will then advance to the round of 16 to be held here in Athens.
