UGA Track and Field Hosts Georgia Invitational This Weekend

ATHENS, Ga. -- The University of Georgia track and field program will host athletes from over 50 schools and clubs at the Eleventh Annual Georgia Invitational Friday and Saturday, at the Spec Towns Track. Field events are scheduled to begin Friday with the men's hammer throw at 2 p.m. and the men's javelin will kickoff events on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Twelve Georgia athletes also will be recognized as part of the Senior Salute on Saturday. Senior honorees include Dennis Baker, Philip Bett, Ian Dickinson, Corrie Drakulich, Hyleas Fountain, Fanni Juhasz, Sherita King, Lucais Mackay, Celly Martinez, David Schenek, Randalene Sergent and Greg Sewell. A brief ceremony to recognize Georgias seniors will take place shortly after noon.
