No. 4 Georgia Defeats Kentucky 6-1

Lexington, KY -- Georgia continued SEC play on the road today with a showdown against #16 Kentucky (15-8, 6-3 SEC). Fourth- ranked Georgia(16-2, 8-1 SEC)defeated Kentucky 6-1. Georgia leads the series against the Wildcats 21-6.

Georgia took an early lead in the match by sweeping doubles and going on to win five of six singles matches. Georgia's No.1 duo of Agata Cioroch and Shadisha Robinson finished first in doubles with an 8-4 win over opponents Aibika Kalsarieva and Sarah Foster. Jitka Schonfeldova and Evgenia Subbotina quickly followed at No. 2 with an 8-3 victory over Lara Maurer and Joelle Schwenk to clinch the doubles point for Georgia. Georgia's Douglas Wink and Natalie Frazier finished the sweep for Georgia with a 9-7 win over Kim Coventry and Christine Simpson at No. 3.
