Athens, Ga. --- Desir Bostice, a 6-4, forward from Howard Junior College in Big Springs, Texas, has signed a letter of intent to continue her collegiate career at the University of Georgia, head coach Andy Landers announced on Wednesday.

"Desir will provide us much-needed help on the front line," Landers said. "She has great size and skills and will give us the height and presence in the post that we lose with the graduation of Christi Thomas."

Bostice, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, signed her papers on Wednesday, the first day of the NCAA's spring signing period.

"I don't think it has really dawned on me yet that I'm going to a major Division I school," Bostice said. "I'm excited about the new experience and know that I'm blessed to have this opportunity. I really liked the environment at Georgia when I visited. Everyone was just so nice and everyone was so supportive of Georgia Basketball. That was one of the main factors in my decision. I wanted to go somewhere where the program has really good support from the whole town."
