Georgia's Kirk in second at Schenkel

STATESBORO, Ga. - Freshman Chris Kirk of the Georgia men's golf team is in second place after two rounds of the Chris Schenkel E-Z-GO Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.

Kirk, a native of Woodstock, fired rounds of 4-under 68 and 2-under 70 for a 6-under 138 as the Bulldogs played two rounds in Statesboro on Saturday. Kirk trails Wake Forest's Bill Haas (132) by six shots heading into Sunday's final round.

As a team, the third-ranked Bulldogs have a tournament total of 1-under 575 after rounds of 1-over 289 and 2-under 286 and they are in seventh place. Wake Forest holds the team lead at 7-under 569.

Junior David Denham followed Kirk at 1-over 145 following rounds of 72 and 73. Sophomore Richard Scott (76, 70) and freshman Brendon Todd (73, 73) each stand at 2-over 146. Sophomore Kevin Kisner rounded out the Bulldogs' lineup at 5-over 149 with rounds of 76 and 73.
