ATHENS, Ga.-----The Georgia gymnastics team added two new members on Thursday, the second day of the early signing period. Abby Stack of Matthews, N.C., and Tiffany Tolnay of Coppell, Texas, each signed letters-of-intent to attend the University of Georgia and begin competition with the Gym Dogs in the 2006 season.
The early signing period runs through Nov. 17.
"We are very please with the start of this class," said head coach Suzanne Yoculan. "We targeted both of these gymnasts back in March and April and we were fortunate they decided to choose Georgia. They are incredible athletes with great personal character and integrity. They encompass all that we want our program to represent."
Abby Stack, a two-time Junior National team member, placed fourth in the all-around at the 2004 JO National meet. She was first on the floor exercise and fourth on bars en route to that finish. Stack also placed 12th at the 2003 National meet including a first-place finish on bars. She is a former Junior International Elite gymnast and was a seven-time Level 10 State AA champion.
