TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Despite leading for much of the game, the Georgia soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Alabama Friday night in Tuscaloosa. The Tide scored three goals in a 17-minute span late in the second half to pull out the win.

With the loss, Georgia is now 4-8-4 overall and 2-5-2 in league play, while the Crimson Tide now stands at 9-8 overall and 5-4 in the SEC.

Sophomore defender Marilee Eback got Georgia on the board early in the game, as she scored her first career goal with a 35-yard shot over Alabama keeper Laura Lowman at the 12:48 mark in the opening period to give the Dogs a 1-0 lead.

That score would hold through intermission, although Alabama led in both shots (7-3) and corner kicks (8-1) through the first 45 minutes of play.
