Georgia Set For ITA South Regional Championships

ATHENS-----Georgia sophomores Shadisha Robinson and Natalie Frazier will be among the top 10 seeds at the Wilson/ITA South Regional Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., beginning Friday.

The four-day tournament features elite players from across the southeast including eight of the nation's top 50 collegiate singles players as well as several of the nation's premier doubles teams. Robinson, preseason ranked No. 23, is the third seed while Frazier, preseason ranked 89th, is the 10th seed. The Bulldog duo is seeded seventh in doubles. This fall, Robinson owns a 5-1 singles mark while Frazier is 5-3. The ITA event will be their first in doubles this year although they went 2-0 last fall as a tandem.

Three of the top four seeds in the singles draw are from the Southeastern Conference but the top seed is Megan Bradley of Miami. Bradley is ranked second nationally after going 22-2 last year. The number two seed is Alabama's Robin Stephenson, ranked 16th, followed by Robinson and then Chloe Carlotti of Ole Miss. Bradley is 3-1 on the year while Stephenson is 5-3. The top seed in the doubles draw is the sixth-ranked duo of Stephenson and Ashley Bentley. They went 23-8 last year. The tournament field features players from 21 schools covering a span of four states.
