There may not be such a thing as perfect...but we sure did come close to it in the Super Six meet of the NCAA Championships!! It is hard to find words to describe what happened that night without sounding corny or without capturing the moment accurately but I am going to give you my thoughts and feelings about the Gymdog's sixth national championship...

Have you ever been so focused on something that you don't even realize what is going on around you except for that one thing you are concentrating on? Or have you ever stared at something for so long, like gone into a daze, where everything around that one object becomes blurry but the thing you can't take your eyes off of becomes so clear? That is how I would describe the Gymdogs at NCAA's! We were untouchable, we were unstoppable, and we were in the ZONE!! Coming out of Thursday night's competition in first place got the momentum going. Many people speculated that having such a great meet the first day was going to make it harder to repeat the second day. But the thing was, we didn't have our best meet on Thursday in prelims...we were good- good enough to be in first place- but we weren't perfect. Everyone was nervous. Everyone knew that the national championship was laying right there in front of us. It was only a matter of reaching for it and grabbing hold of it. Suzanne talked to us a lot about destiny and the desire to make our destiny come true: not only in gymnastics but for our life. In order to achieve what we desire or what is destined for us we needed to remain focused on our goals. So the Friday before the Super Six, we all wrote a picture or word on our hand so that, if we lost focus, we could look at what we drew and get back on track. And so we were off and ready!
