Austin, Texas -- For the second time in as many years, Georgia's battle with Texas came down to the final relay of the night, and again the Bulldogs came away with a near upset. This year Texas touched first in the 400-meter free relay to leave Georgia on the short side of a 126-117 decision at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swimming Center in Austin Friday night.

"We did a great job tonight," said Georgia head coach Jack Bauerle. "It hurts losing, but the kids did a terrific job. We have had some great meets with Texas. On paper it should not have been this close, but we took them down to the last relay where anything can happen. Hats off to our kids. We swam with a lot of heart, but we just came up a little short. This will certainly help us in the long run. This competition is exactly what you need."
