ATHENS, Ga. - University of Georgia soccer head coach Sue Patberg announced Thursday that Sarah Hampton, a goalkeeper from Douglassville, Pa., signed a letter of intent to study and compete at UGA. Seven soccer student-athletes signed with Georgia in February.

Hampton is a four-year starter on the Daniel Boone High School soccer squad. She was named to the Berks County All-Division Team in 2001 and helped her team to the Division 3 Berks County title in 2000. She also played on the Daniel Boone basketball squad.

Hampton is a member of the FC Delco Fire club, helping the squad to the Pennsylvania state title and the Region 1 finals in 2002. She is also a two-year member of the Olympic Development Program state team.

"Sarah brings a competitive nature to our program and fills a great need at goalkeeper," Patberg said. "She has good physical and tactical attributes and the potential to be a good collegiate player."
