AUBURN, Ala. - Fifth-ranked Georgia posted a 7-0 win over Auburn in women's tennis action Friday at the Luther Young Tennis Complex.

Georgia (8-1, 3-0 SEC) captured the doubles point and then swept all six singles matches for the win over the Lady Tigers (8-3, 0-2 SEC) who came into the match ranked 40th nationally.

In the number one match, Georgia's 18th-ranked tandem of Agata Cioroch and Lori Grey claimed an 8-4 victory over the No. 40-ranked pair of Petra Bercik and Carolina Ramirez. At number three, Tina Hojnik and Douglas Wink, ranked No. 49, defeated AU's Sarah Suitor and Isabel Rosenbrock, 8-2, to secure the doubles point.

In singles, Grey handed Sauerborn her first loss of the season with a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, (10-3) win at number four singles. Cioroch, ranked No. 2, defeated No. 93 Ramirez, 6-3, 6-0, in the number one singles contest. Hojnik, who is ranked 66th, held off a late comeback by No. 108-ranked Rosenbrock for a 6-1, 6-7 (6-8), (10-5) victory at number three singles. Meanwhile, Anne Nguyen, Evgenia Subbotina and Alexandra Smith recorded straight set wins to complete the sweep.
