Suzanne, I realize that I paid for the privilege thru the banquet auction, and it wasa privilege, but I still wanted to thank you, the Ten-0 Club and the GYM DAWGS for allowing me the opportunity to participate in a road trip with the team. One thing is for sure - flying charter is the only way to go!
It was great to be a part of the GYM DAWG entourage as we scoped out the opposition facilities (very impressive at Arkansas, not so impressive at Kentucky ) and prepared to bark our DAWGS to another road victory. It was really fun to have our little group of DAWG fans clustered together with our red shakers and "10" flash cards, barking and cheering for our GYM DAWGS.
When you attend home meets, it is easy to see what a great program and great athletes we have at Georgia. However, traveling with the team on the road really gives you some insight into just how remarkable our women are. To go to class all morning, then hop on a plane for an hour or two, grab a bus for 30-40 minutes, get two hours to get therapy and warm-up on unfamiliar equipment, score a couple of 9.90+ routines, sign a few autographs, then hop on the bus and plane and get home after midnight .... and do it all with a smile. Remarkable !!!
We definitely have the best coaches, the best kids, the best program and the best booster club in the country. Anybody that does not believe that needs to go on the road.
Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to my ultimate road trip with the team in April to the NCAA's in Nebraska. It will be a blast to be there right in the thick of things when we win #6 !!!
In the meantime, I'll see you all down in Birmingham at the SEC's and then back in Athens at the Regionals. Now go get us a couple of 197+ scores at LSU and Alabama !!
