LAKE CHARLES, LA.-----Jon Armitage went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI to lead Georgia (5-3) to an 8-5 win over McNeese State Friday at the Lake Area Classic.

Sean Ruthven (1-1) gave the Bulldogs 5.1 strong innings and freshmen Will Startup and Brent Benefield carried the Bulldogs to the ninth when senior Brandon Moorhead came on for his second save over the Cowboys (8-5).

"Sean's start was the key especially a tough opponent on the road, and we got off to a good start which set the tempo," said Georgia head coach David Perno. "Our freshmen got the key outs for us when McNeese made a few comebacks, and they gave us a chance to get to Moorhead who closed it out."
