Q: What advice do you have for young coaches who are wanting to make a career out of coaching college tennis?
Brian Perry
Florence, Alabama
A: You have be patient and goal-oriented. I would highly recommend attending the annual ITA college coaching convention, annually held in December in Florida, where there are clinics and seminars on a wide range of topics. You can review some of the convention events and follow a lot about college tennis throughout the year from the ITA web site at www.ITAtennis.com. Overall, you have to understand and be prepared to handle everything that goes with being a college coach like teaching, coaching, the travel, the competition, recruiting and player-development to name a few things. Best of luck with your career.
Q: I would like information on the tennis camps you offer. My daughter is in the 10th grade.
