Q: What is a good GPA for a gymnast to get into the University of Georgia?
Kristin Sims
Montgomery

A: Dear Kristin: There is no specific GPA requirement as the University of Georgia Admissions Office looks at the classes you take as well as your SAT score. But in general, it takes at least a 3.5 and around a 1200 SAT. They like to see honors classes and they look at what high school you attend. For an athlete, the requirements vary but again, the higher the SAT score, the lower the GPA can be.

Q: If you have been out of gymnastics for four years is there anyway that in college you could get back in it and be as good as you were even though you have been a competition cheerleader since you quit gymnastics?
Katie Browning
Lyerly, Ga

A: Dear Katie: Nothing is impossible, but I have never heard of anyone returning to competition after four years of no gymanstics training.
