ATHENS, Ga. -- Safety Thomas Davis of Georgia has been named Second-Team All-American by The Sporting News, according to an announcement made by the magazine on Wednesday. In addition, The Sporting News chose offensive tackle Daniel Inman to its Freshman All-American First Team.

A 6-1, 220-pound redshirt sophomore from Shellman, Davis is Georgia's top tackler with 130 total stops. He has 83 primary tackles, which ranks as the seventh-highest single-season figure in school history. Davis also has caused two fumbles, recovered a fumble, intercepted a pass and blocked a kick this season. Earlier this week, Davis was named Second-Team All-SEC in voting done by the league's coaches.

Inman, a 6-foot-7, 321-pound redshirt freshman from Hope Mills, N.C., has started 12 games and has seen action in all 13 contests this season. He has recorded 27 dominator blocks, including four against South Carolina. Inman has earned a winning grade in 9-of-12 performances this year. Inman was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team by The Sporting News earlier this week.
