ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Georgia defensive end David Pollack has only 2˝ sacks this season, far off his school-record total of 14 from last year. He's fourth on the team with 64 tackles.

Still, he's one of four finalists for the Lombardi Award, given to the top lineman or linebacker in the country, an honor he has a hard time believing he's in the running for.

"Maybe they just made a mistake," he quipped. "I don't know why they put me on there."

The other finalists are Arkansas offensive tackle Shawn Andrews, UCLA defensive end David Ball and Oklahoma defensive tackle Tommie Harris.

Ball leads the country with a school-record 15˝ sacks, and Harris is a finalist for the second straight year.

"I'm thankful to be mentioned, of course, but I don't expect to win," Pollack said.

No one doubted Pollack's talent in 2002. He was an All-American, the defensive player of the year in the Southeastern Conference, and those 14 sacks were seventh-best in Division I-A.
