Isner and Ormaza Drop Qualifying Matches

Ormaza, who was seeded No. 10 in the qualifying draw, dropped a 6-2, 7-5 decision to Johan Berg of Southern California in Tuesday's qualifying match. Ormaza, a junior transfer, is currently ranked No. 67 in the ITA preseason rankings.
Isner, a freshman ranked No. 99 in the preseason rankings, bowed out of the tournament with a 6-3, 7-5 loss to 11th-seeded Ivor Lorvak of Baylor, ranked No. 68. Isner will return to play with teammate Bo Hodge in the doubles main draw, beginning Thursday, Oct. 9.
The Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championship, the largest single tournament in the country, offers the first national singles and doubles titles of the season, and are followed by the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships in November and the season-ending NCAA Championships in May.
The Icy Hot/ITA Men's All-American Championships include six days of qualifying matches leading up to the 64-player, 32-doubles team main draw Oct. 9-12. The combined singles tournament fields can run over 350 participants.
