Georgia opens SEC play

Georgia opens SEC play this weekend, hosting Alabama Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. and Auburn Sunday, Oct. 6 at 3:30 p.m. Sunday's game will be televised live on SEC-TV, aired regionally on Fox Sports Net South.

Last season in the SEC
The Bulldogs recorded their most-ever wins in SEC play in 2001, posting a 7-2 conference mark. Georgia tied Tennessee for second in the SEC East Division. Georgia is 40-28-3 all-time versus SEC opponents. Alabama recorded a 2-6-1 conference record and ranked fourth in the final SEC West standings.

Auburn posted a 5-4 SEC record and shared Western Division Champion honors with Mississippi State.

Georgia's history versus Bama/Auburn
Georgia is 5-1 all-time versus the Crimson Tide, winning 2-1 last season in Tuscaloosa for its fifth consecutive victory over Alabama. Georgia is 5-2 versus Auburn. The Bulldogs defeated the Tigers 1-0 in Auburn and fell 3-2 in the first round of the SEC tournament in Baton Rouge.
