Georgia Cross Country Travels to Minnesota this Weekend

ATHENS, Ga. -- The University of Georgia men's and women's cross country teams return to action this Saturday at the 17th annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota. The meet includes seven races with over 2,400 runners from 200 plus collegiate and high school teams expected to compete at the Les Bolstad Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.

Both the Georgia men and women will race against several nationally ranked teams at the Griak Invitational.

The Bulldogs will compete in the eight kilometer Men's Gold Race at 1 p.m. ET. Nine teams entered in the race ranked in the Sept. 24 Mondo national poll. Those teams include no. 4 Wisconsin, no. 9 Oregon, no. 10 Providence, no. 11 BYU, no. 12 Eastern Michigan, no. 13 Weber State, no. 14 Arizona State, no. 15 Michigan State and no. 28 Minnesota. The Georgia men currently rank fourth in the Mondo South Region rankings.

The women will compete in the six kilometer Women's Gold Race at 2 p.m. ET. Seven teams entered in the race ranked in the Sept. 23 FinishLynx national poll. Those teams include no. 9 Michigan State, no. 13 Providence, no. 14 Marquette, no. 19 Arizona State, no. 27 Arizona, no. 28 Minnesota and no. 30 Weber State.
