COLUMBIA, S.C.------Top-ranked Georgia advanced to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament with a 4-0 win over Ole Miss at the Maxcy Gregg Tennis Center Friday.

The SEC champion Bulldogs (22-1) captured the doubles point and won three singles matches in straight sets to post the shutout over the Lady Rebels (12-10) who had won four straight. In Saturday's semifinal, Georgia will face the winner of Friday's South Carolina/Tennessee match.

"We came out and played really, really well in singles, " said Georgia coach Jeff Wallace. "It may have been the best tennis we've played this season. We lost singles play at the 1, 2 and 3 spots the last time we played them, so it was nice to see the team come out and close it up quickly. In doubles, we did what we had to do. At the one spot, they played as well as I've seen them play, and the number two team came back to give us the first point of the match."
