ATHENS---Georgia won its third straight Southeastern Conference series Sunday with a 5-3 win over Tennessee in the first game of the day but the Volunteers avoided a sweep with a 10-9 win in the finale.
The Bulldogs (15-7), who maintain their SEC lead with a 7-2 league mark, began the day by finishing the second game of the series after it was halted Saturday after four innings. The Bulldogs trailed 2-0 but they quickley tied the contest with a two-run single by David Coffey (3-3, 2 RBI). Adam Swann (3-4) led off the bottom of the sixth with a double and eventually scored on a bases loaded walk to Chaz Lytle. Georgia added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh on a two-out, two-run single by shortstop Jon Armitage.
