NASHVILLE, TENN.-----Top-ranked Georgia remained undefeated with a dramatic 4-3 win over second-ranked Vanderbilt here Friday at the Currey Tennis Center.

The Lady Bulldogs (10-0) took a 3-0 lead before the Commodores (14-2) rallied back to tie the match. It came down to No. 6 singles where sophomore Alexandra Smith defeated Annie Menees 7-6,1-6,6-3 for the victory. After splitting the first two sets, the two were on serve until Smith broke Menees in the fourth game for a 3-1 lead. They held serve the rest of the way.

"Today it was number one versus number two in the country, and we knew it was going to be a great match and the match lived up to that," said Georgia coach Jeff Wallace. "Last year, we lost up here, and I told the team we had to find a way to win this time. We had a lot of fight in us, we're banged up right now, but they pulled through."
