Georgia Baseball Completes Early Signing With Masters

ATHENS----- University of Georgia baseball coach David Perno announced Thursday the signing of Brandon Masters to a national letter-of-intent.
Masters, a 6-0, 175-pound shortstop/second baseman for the Shaw Raiders (Columbus, Ga.) and coach Charles Flowers. As a junior, he batted .467 with six home runs, 39 RBI and 16 stolen bases in leading the Raiders to the region title and runner-up finish in the state playoffs for 4-A. He tied his school record with 41 runs scored for the second year in a row as the Raiders went 31-5. He earned the team's Scholastic Award, Most Improved Raider Award and the Raiders Hit Parade. Masters, who is also a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club, is the son of Micki Masters.
"It's always been a dream of mine to play in the SEC and there's no better place to play than the University of Georgia," said Masters. "The coaches are so enthusiastic about Georgia Baseball that it's contagious. I can't wait to start working with them."
"Brandon will be the fastest guy on our team, he has a very electric style," said Perno. "He is the best middle infielder in the state with a lot of tools."
Masters becomes the 11th and final member of Georgia's initial recruiting class during the recently completed early signing period.
