Musa Smith Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week

ATHENS----University of Georgia junior Musa Smith was named Southeastern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Smith, a 6-2, 226-pound tailback from Elliottsburg, Pa., earned the honor after rushing for 121 yards on 20 carries in Georgia's 51-7 victory over Georgia Tech.

Smith became the first Bulldog to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season since Garrison Hearst in 1992. On the year, Smith has 1,073 yards on 218 carries.

Smith joins Michael Johnson (Auburn game), Sean Jones (Auburn game), Terrence Edwards (Kentucky game), Boss Bailey (Clemson game), Billy Bennett (Alabama and Tennessee games), and David Pollack (South Carolina game) as Bulldog winners this season of the SEC Player of the Week award.
