ATHENS, Ga. -- University of Georgia track and field head coach Wayne Norton announced the signing of two more student-athletes Monday. Sultana Frizell of Perth, Ontario, and Jenny Dahlgren of Spring, Texas, each signed letters of intent to study and compete at the University next year.

Frizell is the top Canadian Junior in the shot put with a best of 14.35 meters (47'1.5") and hammer throw with a best of 55.45 meters (181'11"). She is the second-ranked Canadian Junior in the discus with a best of 44.19 (144'11"). She currently attends Perth & District Collegiate Institute.

"Sultana is a multiple-event athlete who should develop into a scorer in events that we do not have established point scorers," Norton said. "Because of that, she makes us a better team. She is also a nice person who adds good character and integrity to our program."

Dahlgren is currently a senior at Klein High School, but was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and competes internationally for Argentina. She has a personal best of 59.48 meters (195'1") in the hammer throw which she set at the 2002 World Junior Championships in Kingston, Jamaica, placing fifth. She finished fourth in the hammer throw at the 2001 World Youth Championships in Debrecen, Hungary. She was also the South American Junior Champion in the hammer throw in 2001 & 2002 and is both the South American and Argentinean Junior record holder in the event. In 2002, Dahlgren placed second at the Texas 5A state meet in the shot put, and fifth in the discus. She has personal bests of 46'9" in the shot put and 140'2" in the discus.
